Summary

A final quest。 A people divided。 Can one cyren turn the tides of fate?

The time has come to obtain the final birthstone of Saddoriel。 Reeling from a near-deadly sacrifice, Roh must rally all her strength if she is to take her place upon the throne。

But with cyrenkind divided and enemies closing in, the road to Lochloria and beyond is more dangerous than ever。 An ancient prophecy looms, loyalties are tested and Roh races against the clock that threatens to undo all she’s fought for。

As a centuries-long conflict comes to a head and forces of nature collide, Roh has to decide if there is more than one kind of magic in this world, and whether or not she has the power to harness it。

Some bonds will solidify, while others will be fractured forever – but all must take up their swords and face the final battle for a better Saddoriel。

Will Roh emerge from the perils victorious, or will the trials claim her at last?

Bursting with Scheuerer’s trademark action and a dash of fiery romance, the Curse of the Cyren Queen series reaches its epic conclusion with To Wield a Crown。

im still mad as hell odi was done so dirty。 for the first time in forever, i was rooting for f2l over e2l bc finn was rude af to roh and he's the typical romantasy li。 now im not a roh fan either but her dynamic with odi in btw lines, which i thought was me reaching, but another reviewer pointed out too。 they had so much more complexity。 odi being in her command, hating her but coming to care for her and roh, doing the most for him yeah the wasted potential。。。 i don't want a finn redemption arc! im still mad as hell odi was done so dirty。 for the first time in forever, i was rooting for f2l over e2l bc finn was rude af to roh and he's the typical romantasy li。 now im not a roh fan either but her dynamic with odi in btw lines, which i thought was me reaching, but another reviewer pointed out too。 they had so much more complexity。 odi being in her command, hating her but coming to care for her and roh, doing the most for him yeah the wasted potential。。。 i don't want a finn redemption arc! he's boringalso why does this have open sexual scenes 😭 first two books read as lower ya。 kids about to jump off their seats! this new trend is ruining literature pls there is a time and place for everything。 this wasn't it! but Helen can Write good rom scenes。 I'm excited for her next fantasy rom series。 just wish she doesn't go with the wrong guy again。 。。。more

This book was such an amazing finale to a series。 I was so excited to find out what happened but I also didn’t want to say goodbye to these characters。 They all went on such a journey together and created great relationships along the way。 I did feel bad for Roh because she’s had to do so much for this challenge, most of it was unexpected and not what she signed up for。 She is such a determined character despite everything she has gone through。 As always, I loved the characters in this book and This book was such an amazing finale to a series。 I was so excited to find out what happened but I also didn’t want to say goodbye to these characters。 They all went on such a journey together and created great relationships along the way。 I did feel bad for Roh because she’s had to do so much for this challenge, most of it was unexpected and not what she signed up for。 She is such a determined character despite everything she has gone through。 As always, I loved the characters in this book and I enjoyed the characters meeting new people on their journey。 I feel like we have got to know the characters so well, we have definitely some great character developments。 Roh will always have a special place with me, she just takes everything on no matter how tough。 I don’t want to say too much about the plot because I don’t want to spoil the series for anyone。 In this book, we get to read about the present day events but we also get some insight into Roh’s past and her parents which is interesting to read about。 It feels special to live these moment with Roh and feel like you have discovered this information with her。 I enjoyed the pace of this book, the events which took place were spread out so to keep the excitement of the reader。 The book starts where the last book finished, I love the continuation of the series and how it can be read altogether。 I might have to go back and reread the series back to back at some point。 I love this authors style of writing, it is so captivating and descriptive。 The inclusion of a map as well as the descriptions, I could fully imagine what the world was like and imagine the situation and characters were in。 With this book being a fantasy, everything is explained so well so there is never any confusion。 I always have that worry with a fantasy that the author will use terminology that I don’t understand, but this is not the case with any of this authors books。 I highly recommend this series as well as the authors other series。 。。。more

By far, my favourite book of this series。 I was giggling and smiling throughout the whole book and as I was prepared by Helen, crying with my box of tissues towards the end。 I'm a sucker for lore, and this book was so lore heavy that I couldn't put it down。 When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking of what might be coming next, it was always on my mind! There was a few twists and turns that caught me off guard and I had to pick my jaw off the floor, which I love it when I'm surprised like that!He By far, my favourite book of this series。 I was giggling and smiling throughout the whole book and as I was prepared by Helen, crying with my box of tissues towards the end。 I'm a sucker for lore, and this book was so lore heavy that I couldn't put it down。 When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking of what might be coming next, it was always on my mind! To Wield a Crown is the fourth and final book in the Curse of the Cyren Queen series by Helen Scheuerer。 This series is pure perfection。 It has cemented itself as one of my favorite fantasy series of all time。 This is a series that needs to be read in order, and now is the perfect time since all four books are out now。 Trust me, once you start reading these hidden magical gems, you will not want to stop。 Helen has crafted a magical world that I could not get enough of。 Roh and her gang of friend To Wield a Crown is the fourth and final book in the Curse of the Cyren Queen series by Helen Scheuerer。 This series is pure perfection。 It has cemented itself as one of my favorite fantasy series of all time。 This is a series that needs to be read in order, and now is the perfect time since all four books are out now。 Trust me, once you start reading these hidden magical gems, you will not want to stop。 Helen has crafted a magical world that I could not get enough of。 Roh and her gang of friends are in pretty dire circumstances at the start of this book because of the devastating events of book 3。 Roh has a nearly impossible task in front of her to try and retrieve the last of the crown gems and take her place of Cyren Queen。 A lot is packed into this book, and I will admit that parts of this book completely gutted me。 I cried multiple times, and I am not a crier with books typically。 I can count the number of books that have made me cry on both hands, and this one has me in tears multiple times。 I grew so attached to these characters and their friendship and I was not ready to say goodbye to them。 One of my favorite characters in To Wield a Crown is Valli- Roh's pet Sea Drake。 He is just about the cutest scary creature in all the realms。 Fans of quest based fantasy stories featuring a deadly competition, found family, great characters, huge betrayals/secrets and magnificent writing need to check out this series。 Helen Scheuerer is one of my favorite authors and she writes can't miss stories。 If you haven't read her books, you are really missing out! 。。。more

In the long-awaited conclusion (at least the conclusion that I have long been awaiting), Helen takes some of her biggest risks of the series。 Roh has the crown and two of the jewels, but must get the last one and make it back to Saddoriel within three weeks。 She has a plan, but her past keeps creeping up to haunt her。 And she still has to face one more challenger。 And she no longer has her death song。I don't want to say too much and spoil the joy of reading this for the first time, but there are In the long-awaited conclusion (at least the conclusion that I have long been awaiting), Helen takes some of her biggest risks of the series。 Roh has the crown and two of the jewels, but must get the last one and make it back to Saddoriel within three weeks。 She has a plan, but her past keeps creeping up to haunt her。 And she still has to face one more challenger。 And she no longer has her death song。I don't want to say too much and spoil the joy of reading this for the first time, but there are a few things that stood out to me, showing what an incredible storyteller Helen is。 First, on several occasions, there was a big showdown that usually indicates the story is over。 At least three come to mind, but there might have been more。 But the way she staggers these events, even when you think nothing bigger or worse could occur, it does。 It's incredible。 Second, Roh has made a full transition to what I call being human - learning all of the lessons that are embodied by Odi。 At the same time, she becomes even more fully cyren and fully warlock。 I can't explain it, but it is every kind of wonderful。 And third, that ending。 Absolutely brilliant。 So so good。 And I probably cried through the last four chapters。 Thanks for that, Helen。 But I'm all ready to do it all over again。One complaint。 There was an open door sex scene in this book。 Not my preference to begin with, but when the first two books in the series are completely clean and book three hints at a maybe but still keeps it clean, it feels a bit like a bait and swap。 If you don't want to read sex scenes, then it's easy enough to skip, but still worth mentioning since I also know that its inclusion will turn off some readers。Overall, I thought this was a most incredible ending to an incredible series。 And as others have already said, I am sold。 Anything Helen writes will be on my preorder list forever。 And I can't wait to read this series all over again。I received a free ARC from the author and have reviewed it willingly because it's incredible! 。。。more

My heart。 I have no words。 UPDATE:I received this book for free from author and agreed to provide an honest review。 This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review。I am going for as spoiler free as possible but there is a chance for minor spoilers of the previous three books。 My Thoughts To Wield a Crown is among the best finales I have EVER read。 Hands down。 This final piece to Roh + her companion's story, and really the series as a whole, will live in my heart and mind My heart。 I have no words。 UPDATE:I received this book for free from author and agreed to provide an honest review。 This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review。I am going for as spoiler free as possible but there is a chance for minor spoilers of the previous three books。 My Thoughts To Wield a Crown is among the best finales I have EVER read。 Hands down。 This final piece to Roh + her companion's story, and really the series as a whole, will live in my heart and mind as one of my all-time favorites。。。 right there with the Ember in the Ashes Quartet, Red Rising and the other rare few books that burrowed their way into my soul。This book was absolutely incredible。 Helen Scheuerer has woven lives and growth of her characters together so beautifully that you just cannot not help but to become invested in their joy, pain, struggles and triumphs。 And there is a lot of all of those my friends。 “Stone will crumble and land will fester, until the winged one flies forth…” Helen Scheuerer Roh and company are on the final leg of their quest for the Gauntlet Ruby to complete the crown of bones, capture the throne, and save her people from impending war。 The stakes are high in Wield with our crew having to find new ways to defy the elders, water warlocks, other worldly storms and time itself。 There are so many masterfully developed revelations, particularly around the history between our Elder Slayer and Delja the Triumphant。 The plot is well-paced and intricately unfolded in a way that kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the page late into the night。 And have I mentioned yet that there is an ABSOLUTELY EPIC battle?!? It was thrilling and worthy of being on the big screen。I have said this several times before, Helen Scheuerer is a BRILLIANT world builder。 From the Lair of Bones to Lochloria and every corner of the realm in between, there is a distinct richness and vibrancy that brings the story to life right before your eyes。 And as amazing as the world is, the development of the characters on their own and together shined EVEN MORE in this quartet。 I loved how each character had their own role in Roh's journey from Yrsa being the calm voice of reason and Finn the fire to Harlyn as her roots and Odi + Deodan as mirrors as well as challengers to everything Roh thought was truth。 Over the course of this story they have become so strong together that the absence of any one of them is truly felt。 My FAVORITE character quickly became Finn which says so much about how incredible of a writer Scheuerer is as I don't change my mind about a character often。 Both he and Roh grew in such well-developed and authentic ways that it was easy to forget where they started。。。 as adversaries。 It was so natural。 There was one really beautifully tender moment with Finn that had my heart bursting and really highlighted this。 Okay who am I kidding, there were a lot of those small but powerful moments。。。 but this one。。。 you are in for a treat。To Wield a Crown was not without its heartache。 It is pretty rare for a story to truly move me to tears, let alone sobs, but this book is now on that list。 It destroyed me and yet there was so much hope threaded throughout the entire Curse of the Cyren Queen Quartet that this happily ever after loving book nerd still felt satisfied with this finale。 I told you Helen was a cyren。。。Overall Overall the only downside to this story is that it is over。 I could stay immersed in this world and follow these characters to the ends of the realm forever。 I loved every single epic, world-shattering, emotional, throat-punching, mesmerizing moment of both To Wield a Crown and the quartet as a whole。 Helen's characters have stolen my heart。 This series 100% solidified her as an auto-buy author for me and I will be revisiting this story often。 I cannot wait to reread them all as audio books。 Do yourself a favor and meet Rohesia of the Bone Cleaners and her companions now in A Lair of Bones! To Wield a Crown by Helen Scheuerer is the final piece of Rohesia’s journey, which spanned the Curse of the Cyren Queen quartet。 I was incredibly lucky to get an e-ARC of this beauty, & I was mesmerised from start to finish。。。Roh is sailing to the land where the last gem (the Gauntlet Ruby) awaits, with just three weeks to complete her task & truly be Queen。 But when she arrives, there’s so much more at play than just the finale to the Queen’s Tournament。 Akorian refugees are starving at the edg To Wield a Crown by Helen Scheuerer is the final piece of Rohesia’s journey, which spanned the Curse of the Cyren Queen quartet。 I was incredibly lucky to get an e-ARC of this beauty, & I was mesmerised from start to finish。。。Roh is sailing to the land where the last gem (the Gauntlet Ruby) awaits, with just three weeks to complete her task & truly be Queen。 But when she arrives, there’s so much more at play than just the finale to the Queen’s Tournament。 Akorian refugees are starving at the edges of Lamaka’s Basin, & the warlocks are ready to strike a major blow against the cyrens。 The only way Roh can save her people is to complete her crown of bones, but will she be able to retrieve the Gauntlet Ruby? Can she return to Talon’s Reach in time? And when war breaks out, who will be left standing?Helen is a genius at placing important plot devices & reveals in just the right parts。 Some authors give us a story without giving us *depth*, if that makes sense。 But Helen doesn’t do this to us。 Instead, Helen writes with a comprehensive richness, taking us from the very bottom of the lair of bones, all the way to the heights of Valli’s soaring form in the air。Everything, absolutely everything, about this last chapter in Roh’s story has been a glittering triumph。 To Wield a Crown is pure majesty, & I would follow Rohesia to any corner of the realm。 Helen Scheuerer has shown, once again, why she is a must-buy author for me。 There are no faults in her stories; Helen’s characters have dominion over my heart, & she reigns over the genre of fantasy。* You should check out my full review via my blog: https://www。immersedinbooks。com/to-wi。。。 * 。。。more
